2. What are Cotton Rich Bed Sheets? Cotton-rich bed sheets are a blend of materials, primarily cotton and polyester. The inclusion of polyester is believed to prolong the textile's lifespan, as polyester does not weaken with high levels of bleaching, and this small proportion improves both the fabric's tensile strength and tear strength. The benefits of polyester lie in its superior strength to cotton and its ability to make the fabric more stable, reducing the amount of shrinkage that a cotton-rich textile will experience over multiple launderings, compared to 100% cotton. To achieve this reduction in shrinkage, the fabric needs to have polyester in both the warp and weft.

Cotton-rich sheets, however, are filled with 40% polyester, which makes them slightly harder, slightly cooler, and with a crisp, refreshing feeling.
